There is no surprise that our ozone layer is being attacked by chemicals and waste products that surround our earthly planet, from statistics. Our life years is shortened by lung cancer or some other type of respiratory disease. Cancer has affected the majority of the population. It can develop even in the smallest bone or muscle, inside our skeletal body system.

 

Persons in the age 40 or above are most commonly affected by the uncontrolled growth of deadly cells, inside their lungs. Lung cancer is found more in men than women. Thus both sexes are involved without favoritism.

 

The most common causes is smoking. Although there are many other contributing factors for lung cancer. A person’s lifestyle, drinking habits, heredity or environment are all contributing factors. You don’t even have to be a smoker to feel the affects. For example, a person in the presence of an active smoker, still breathe the circulating smoke filled air; comes under the influence. This second hand smoke is just as bad over a period of time. It is one of the factors to consider with lung cancer.

 

Another portal of entry is by inhaling smoke that comes from a vehicle’s muffler exhaust system. Airborne pollutants like asbestos dust once it gets into your lungs may cause lung cancer. One of the best way to prevent it is to avoid smoking, because there is no permanent cure. The quality of your life will improve, as well as, the cash in your pocket to save.

 

Here are a few negative signs that you should watch closely, if you are an active smoker:

 

  1. A chronic oppressive cough

  2. Flecks of blood in your sputum

  3. Copious mucus production

  4. Chest wheezing

  5. Mild, moderate or severe chest pain

 

It would not be a bad idea to schedule an appointment to see your family doctor. Your lungs are involved. Recognizing the early warning signs, can add to better health.

 

Is there a permanent cure for lung cancer? No. But, there is palliative measures used as radiotherapy, chemotherapy and surgery that may lessen the growth of cancer cells, inside the lungs. The pain of cancer that is associated with the disease, the physician may prescribe pain relievers.

 

In a report in 2004 by The National Cancer Institute about 500,000 people will be diagnosed with some form of cancer this year. The number one risk of death for almost everyone is cancer.

 

What is amazing, only in the second half of the 20th century that the numbers for cancer cases increased rapidly. Some contributory items:

 

  1. High stress lifestyle zaps the immune system

  2. Mutant pathogens

  3. Electromagnetic stressors

  4. Irradiated foods
